Yes, he lived next to William Tallent/Tallant/Talent in 1850 Scott County. The 1840 Census is probably more important. Both William Tallent and Jesse Light list children as born in TN. Jesse Light would have been 15-20 in 1840. I am guessing that they would have been married about 1845 or so--making Jesse about 21 when they were married. In 1840, a William Tallant lived next to James Light, but James and none of the other Hawkins County Lights had children in the 15-20 age range in 1840. So, there doesn't seem to be any support for Jesse being from Hawkins County. Also, none of the Greene County Lights had male children 15-20. Now, Right Light of Sullivan County--likely son of Vachel (Sr) who lived next door, had a son 15-20 in 1840. One thing to also consider is that Jesse was often a middle name in Hawkins/Hancock counties.
