I am researching allied families of the Wagners of Carter/Johnson Co., TN. Found some things that I thought might help somebody researching Whites of Hawkins Co.
John F (Fletcher?) White was b. abt 1824, s/o George White and Sarah Snodgrass, in Hawkins Co., TN. He married Martha Rebecca Faw b. abt 1826, Ashe Co., NC. How did they meet?
They probably married about 1848, since son George was born abt 1849 in TN (Chickamauga, Hamilton Co., TN?).
1860 District 15, Hamilton, Tennessee (Chickamauga post office):

All children born in TN.
*Sarah K ( Kossuth / Koussouth ?) White m. abt 1874 (probably in Suwanee Co., FL) to (Maj.) Joseph Hugh Wagner b. 14 Jan 1841 in Taylorsville (now Mountain City), Johnson Co., Tennessee, USA. They lived in Johnson Co., TN by 1880. In 1900, Sarah's sister Mattie (b. 1862 TN) and children had returned to Johnson Co. from Live Oaks, Suwanee Co., Florida to live with them having become a widow (John Franklin Hardaway b. 1860 Warren Co., GA) between 1897 and 1900.
John White moved his family to Suwanee Co., FL (town of Live Oaks) between 1862 (when Mattie was born in TN) and 1867 (when his first child, James, by second wife, Sallie A. [b. abt 1844 in FL] was born). Not documented yet, but his death is said to have occurred 14 Aug 1901 in Suwanee.
