You might find somthing helpful in this post 985 on the Bradford genforum.

There is a Mitilda Wray/Ray who appears to be married
into the Bradford and Middleton familys.

I have a Wiley Ray who may be related to Matilda out of
Wilson Co., TN into Henderson Co., TN. Matilda has a Wiley
in her family and it looks like you do too.

There was a James Hamiliton Ray in Henderson Co., TN.
James Hameliton Rays parents are said to be Rober Ray
and Margaret (Peggy) Bradford. I believe these Rays
could be out of Orange and Wake Co., Nc.

Richard Middleton was on the same census page as a John Ray
on the 1830 Henderson Co., Tn census.
