Laura, I checked the earlier Censuses today and found that probably the same George Hollingsworth was already in Henry Co. in 1840 (as a male 40 and under 50), but there was no George Hollingsworth or any Hollingsworth (of any spelling) in Henry Co. in 1830. There was a George Hollingsworth of the right age (that is, 30 and under 40) in Rockingham Co., VA in 1830.
Finding this on him has probably helped to eliminate him and his son Robert as connected to the Robert Hollingsworth in Gibson Co. in 1823.
I am still stuck on finding out any more about him and his parents and his possible daughter or sister Sarah "Sally" Hollingsworth, wife of William Alford of Davidson and Gibson Counties, whom she married on 8 May 1823 in Davidson Co.
Thanks again for your help.
