I found a message that mentioned Drury Miller of Hickman Tn which said that he married Eleanor Milam, daughter of John Belfield Milam and Levica Hamby (from Abbeville SC to Hickman Tn). I think this may be the Drury Miller from the 1840 Hickman Tn census. He must have died soon after, and Eleanor then married a Smith and moved to Texas. John Belfield Milam was the son of Jordan Milam and Mary Peacock who moved from Va to Abbeville SC to Hickman Tn to Arkansas.
The Milams follow a similar migratory path to my husband's Miller family. I'm pretty sure his Millers were in the Wythe/Augusta Va area before moving (possibly to Orange NC), then to Kershaw SC. My husband's branch of the family were born in Tn. Andrew Lewis Miller b 1809, William b 1811,and Drury b 1822. Andrew married Priscilla Harris of Monroe Tn, then was in Wilkinson Co Ga by 1850, then Screven Co Ga, where he died in 1865. His brother William was in Screven in the 1870 census, where he died in 1873. Drury was in Pickens Co Al by 1850, where he died in 1888, about the time his family was moving to Anniston, Calhoun Co Al. Drury's wife was Julia Long, whose parents were Richard Long and Mary Coleman who were born in Va and moved to Abbeville SC before moving to Pickens Co Al.
I suspect that the Drury Miller of 1840 Hickman Tn may be related to my Millers.
Any help with these families would be greatly appreciated.
