Hi, Ralph...Reed says he remembers you well and says Hi! John Owens of the Buffalo Community is my cousin, his father Jesse Owens and my great great grandmother,Nancy Catherine Owens were brother and sister. There is also a younger John Owens married to Marla Page who is also my cousin. The Owens book by Ray Owens is not available through our Historical Society.....I will have to get you an address on that. Ray lives in Hickman county and I got my copy through his niece, Pam Owens Blackwell. Perry County has just completed their latest book on more history of families and the men who served during the many Wars we have had. My great great grandmother, Nancy Catherine Owens and her second husband, John Valentine Horner are in it, along with Nancy's grandparent's John Richard and Catherine Penn who came from Granville, North Carolina. John is believed to the the grandson of John Penn, the signer of the Declaration of Independence as they came from the same town in the same time frame. Or at least they are probably related. How are you related to the Owen's family? Or are you the host for this genealogy site? The new books are available through the Linden Historical Society whose members work in the Linden Library. I can give you Mary Bowen(whose husband is a direct descendant of the Owens)e-mail address as she stays at the Library and helped make this book possible.
