William and Mary Choate Matlock
William Matlock was born 1834-died 1912, he was the son of Luke (b.1810) and Eleanor (b. 1812) Matlock.
Will was brother to: John b. 1831; Ned b. 1841; Elizabeth b. 1845; Thomas b. 1848; and Martha b. 1850.
Will served in the Civil War, in the 54th Infantry.
He met and married Mary Ann "Poppy" Choate, she was b. 1841 and d. 1913. Offspring of this union were: Mandy Turner; Jim (didn't marry); Ned b. 1860 (no further info); Willie married a Wilderridge, then she married a Luffman; Mary Jane Leathers; Ida Kimmons; and Martha Ann b. 1871, d. 1947, married James Perry Choate.
Grandchildren of Will and Mary Ann are: Ethel Manor; Dora Holland; Mattie Bullington; Chester; Rufus; Herbert and Jones Choate; Lush and Wes Matlock; Walter Wilderridge; Mary and Louella Luffman; Alice Ayres; Mag McNabe; Luther, Henry and Hawkins Leathers; Mary, Harris, Ernie, Elmer and Hallis Kimmons; Charles O., Ethel, Burnice and David Turner.
