Chasey Jones Rogers, Pleasant Rogers, William Rogers etc.

We know the 1840 HUMPHREYS Co. TN CENSUS listed the Michael and James McMackin families as well as the CHASEY ( Jones ) ROGERS living in that county then, but prior to that they had lived in Hickman Co. TN, and perhaps the county lines just changed, as I am not clear on that for sure. We know the Hickman / Humphreys Co. TN ROGERS owned a lot of land in Hickman Co. TN per their land deeds there in the 1820's. ( shown below ) We also know these Rogers were formerly of Mecklenburg Co. NC per their mothers ( Chasey Jones Rogers's ) family files of her JONES FAMILY who also listed WILLIAM ROGERS as husband of Cynthia "Chasey" Jones. So he too is verified by there JONES family records in Meckelburg Co. NC. This William Rogers may have been born in SC or NC but he is in Mecklenburg Co. NC per the Jones Deeds and had married Cynthia Chasey Jones. They then moved to Hickman / Humphreys Co. TN in the early 1800's.

We also know that my own WILLIAM ROGERS family of Montgomery Co. NC have M. McMackins living next to them then, in the 1810 Montgomery Co. NC Census. I believe this to be Michael McMackins on the 1810 Montgomery Co. NC Census, and later he is living in Humphreys Co. TN near Chasey Jones Rogers. We later see our ROGERS moved from Montgomery Co. TN to Carroll Co. TN and our ROGERS intermarried with the McMackins as well. My William Rogers b. 1770 Montgomery Co. NC and died in 1842 in Carroll Co. TN leaving his will naming his wife Nancy and their many children who also lived in Carroll Co. TN. Our William L. Rogers line is further verified by the 1855 Land Division Deed by Heirs of William L. Rogers when his heirs ( children ) and their spouses had to sign in order to sell their William L. Rogers lands they had inherited upon his death to William Cox of Carroll Co. TN.

My William L. Rogers b. 1770 Montgomery Co. NC who died 1842 in Carroll Co. TN had granddaughter, MINTER LEE ROGERS b. bet. 1825 - 1826 Carroll Co. TN who married DAVID McMACKINS b. 1821 NC and is son of James A. McMackin Jr. b. 1791 Rowan Co. NC and wife Elizabeth Frick b. 1795 NC. Elizabeth Frick is the dau. of JACOB FRICK b. 1751 Bucks Co. PA and wife Eva Elizabeth Earnhardt b. 1770 Rowan Co. NC. David McMackin is the nephew of the Michael McMackin who then lived in Humphreys Co. TN next to CHASEY JONES ROGERS. So both our Rogers in Carroll Co. TN and the Chasey Jones Rogers and William Rogers family of Hickman and Humphreys Co. TN may have McMackins associations as well as intermarriages.

Minter Lee Rogers and husband DAVID McMACKINS b. 1821 NC lived in Carroll Co. TN. They are shown below in the 1850 Carroll Co. TN census and Minter Lee Rogers father BASIL ROGERS also is shown in Carroll Co. TN as well - and our Carroll Co. TN ROGERS also have the same naming patterns as do the Hickman / Humphreys Co. TN ROGERS of Chasey Jones Rogers children and grandchildren. We are now DNA TESTED on our WILLIAM L. ROGERS line of Carroll Co. TN and would love to know if there is any direct male of the WILLIAM ROGERS and CHASEY JONES line in Humphreys Co. TN who could also do DNA TESTING ? :

Our David McMackins of Carroll Co. TN and his wife MINTER LEE ROGERS granddaughter of our William L. Rogers of Carroll Co. TN. and her father BASIL ROGERS shown on his census below David McMackins.

The son of Chasey Jones Rogers known as JONES ROGERS had moved from HIckman Co. TN to CARROLL CO. TN, and he then moved to Johnson Co. AR later on. We believe the naming patterns of these Hickman Co. TN ROGERS which also included the name of GREEN BERRY ROGERS may be significant for most of the DNA MATCHES we have also have similiar naming patterns to our ROGERS, be it GREEN BERRY ROGERS or other common given names within our ROGERS in Carroll Co. TN.

THE LAND DEEDS OF WILLIAM ROGERS of MECKLENBURG CO. NC and his wife CHASEY JONES ROGERS are listed below including their children's land deeds as well and I am posting these deeds in order that others may have the deeds to do further research on the names within these deeds which included PLEASANT ROGERS, JAMES ROGERS, WILLIAM ROGERS, MICHAEL MCMACKINS, the SPICERS, the HALES and others associated with this Hickman Co. TN family of ROGERS. In time I hope we know if our two separate ROGERS groups do have a DNA MATCH. OUR ROGERS DNA MATCHES are with those whose paper trails are in VA/ NC/ SC/ AL/ MS/ TN/ MO/ AR. The first know of these ROGERS dated back to JOHN ROGERS b. 1617 England or Wales, who arrived on ship "George" in 1635 and is in Jamestown VA and later in Surry Co. VA with wife MARY ATKINS. They are known as the SURRY CO. VA ROGERS. So far none of our other ROGERS in our DNA GROUP have their paper trails far enough back to connect to this JOHN ROGERS family but we are making a lot of headway in researching the eastern NC counties and finding our ROGERS court records there. So far it looks promising that our ROGERS DNA GROUP does connect to the SURRY CO. VA as the DNA TESTS proved.
