I made a very important genealogical find last night, for the descendants of Jesse McClendon and his wife, Susannah White of Flynn's Lick, Jackson Co., TN. It is a transcription of an unsuccessful lawsuit directed at the family and heirs of Jesse McClendon. It lists Jesse's heirs, and lists the name of his daughter's husbands. This opens up a whole new field of research for our McClendon family researchers. The persons named are: son Henry H. ( Harold ) McClendon, son Robert W. McClendon, son George McClendon, daughter Rachael W. McClendon, daughter Jane (McClendon) Martin, son-in-law Thomas Martin, daughter Mariah C. (McClendon) Gailbreath, son-in-law R. J. C. (Robert James Campbell) Gailbreath, daughter Mary (McClendon) Wade, son-in-law Charles D. Wade, daughter Elizabeth (McClendon) Rogers, son-in-law John Rogers, and daughter "Nutty" (Netty?) McClendon. This transcription also contains the Last will and testament of Jesse McClendon, and a deed from Susannah ( Susan ) White / McClendon to her daughter, Mariah. If you are a descendant of any of these families, please contact me. I also have some Y-DNA results that I would be happy to share with the descendants of Jesse McClendon, b. abt 1769 in Craven Co., North Carolina, d. 13 May 1850 in Flynn's Lick, jackson Co., Tennessee. These Y-DNA results are valid for any male McClendon / McLendon, descended from this line. if you want to know if you are descended from this line, contact me. You can now be Y-DNA tested to possibly find out.
