Hello, I have tried to find ANY information on ANY Walters who lived in Shenadoah Co. VA in the 1700's and Jefferson County, TN in 1788 thrrough 1820's. All I have is marriage info on a Thomas Walters to Elizabeth Sively (Sievely) and a John Walters to Sarah Sively (Sievely) in Shenandoah County, VA. John and Thomas were brothers and I descend most likely from John. My g-g-g-g grandfather Absalom ("born VA") shows up on some family trees of Thomas and Elizabeth but Absalom is not in Thomas's will. Absalom, along with the children of Thomas and Elizabeth, were all in Jefferson Co. TN from around 1788 to around 1820's then Fulton Co., IL. in the 1820's. Additionally, William Walters (son of Thomas) and my Absalom Walters both served together in the Black Hawk war in Illinois. They both had children born in Jefferson Co. and grandchildren born in the same or nearby townships in Fulton Co. William and Absalom are both buried in Temple Cemetery in Table Grove, IL. The original deed to this cemetery was Absalom's. With this information I have collected, I follow a theory that Absalom was most likely the son of John and Sarah. But have not found any information on them, their children, or their deaths, etc. I even wonder if maybe Absalom could have been raised by William and Elizabeth as he may have been orphaned (my theory, no info to back that up!) It is from Janet Aricui that I have gotten the most information -- she researches the Sively family. Hoping someone will pick up this inquiry and pass along any clues!! I would be ever so grateful! I live 'out West' with no chance of coming to VA or TN to do research, tho I would love to! Thanks!! Lynn Notify Administrator about this message?
