This is my first venture into Tennessee genealogy. All help is appreciated. The Norman's and Jett's were old Viriginia families that moved into Knox County before 1810. It appears the Jett family was already established as by that the time Courtney Norman and his wife Alice Jettt had six children. Their daughter Alcey married William Jett in Knox County. Mother and aughter died, Courtney and William emarried presumaly in Knox County as the Webber family bible lists Susan and William Jett. Jett was buried om the Webber family plot. James J. Norman, Courtney's son by his first wife, married in Knox County and lived his whole life in or very near Knox County What we do not know would fill a book. What were the names of James other siblings? Where are Alice and Alcey buried? Did Alcey and William have children? Where was Courtney buried? Did Alcey's brother Benjamin marry in Knox County? Did they have children? Benamin was born in Culpeper, VA in 1794. He did not appear in any records again until 1820 where his name is found in Ohio. Where was he for 26 years? He may have been apprenticed to a shoemaker. It has been said when the last of Amos' descendants died, the barn was filled with shoe last's that belonged to Benjamin. Amos was Benjamin's youngest son. Could Amos be the name of Benjamin's brother? There are too many unanswered questions and scant little information to work with. I do not know where to begin. Help is appreciated. Notify Administrator about this message?
