Nita, thanks for the info, just want to know if you are the Anita from OK that posted an article titled "George Washington Higgins Wright" in the "Heritage of Lincoln County, Tennessee that was printed around 2005? If you are one in the same do you have the book?
One of my sources for Sarah being and Eslick is in that book. It is article #1709 titled "Taylors" and it gives Robert A. Taylor's parents as Edmund Taylor IV born ca 1784 VA died September 1859 LCTN married Jane Poston, daughter of Robert Poston and Sarah Cunningham of Rowan Co. NC and removed to TN ca 1818. Their children Robert (1818-aft1868) married Sarah Eslick, 3/26/1845 LCTN and removed to Morgan County, Alabama. Sarah (1821-1898) married John Wesley Braden 5/20/1855, LCTN and removed to Marshall County, Tennessee. Temple (1825-1894) married Clemenza Wisener McClellan, 10/7/1876 LCTN, served in Confederate Army during Civil War and willed his farm to his nephew Temple Taylor, Jr. Young Andrew (1826-1899) married-1 his cousin, Elizabeth Stiles, 1/11/ 1849, LCTN 2-Martha McClure, 3/21/1861, LCTN; Andrew (1829-1850); Martha (1831-1851); John Henry (1838-1929) married his cousin, Martha Catherine Stiles, 1/23/1858, LCTN, and removed to Madison County, Alabama.
My other source that mentions Sarah being an Eslick is a book compiled by Joseph H. Parks "Four Taylor Brothers of Lincoln County, TN their ancestors, relatives and descendants.
Edmund Taylor IV (1786-1859)married Jane Poston (1790-1873) in Iredell County, NC. They moved to LCTN about 1818 and soon owned land on lower Tucker's Creek. By 1830 the family included 4 boys and 2 girls. By 1850, the first year that census reports listed named of chidren, 2 sons and 2 daughters were still living with their parents. Two other sons had married and one had died.
1. Robert A. Taylor (1819-) married 93/26/1845) Sarah Eslick (1820-). one daughter Martha Taylor (1848-. The rest is of Robert's siblings.
I hope this helps, that is all I have that says that Robert A. Taylor was married to Sarah Eslick. If you want more of the Taylor info I have email me at dbmcbay55@yahoo.com and I will be glad to send you either a 10 page family group sheet or an outline or gedcom whatever. Di
