Am seeking additional information about and/or contact with descendants of CHLOE LUTITIA McAFEE and/or her spouse, JOHN F. DAVIS, as well as any descendants of the lsited families.

JOHN F. DAVIS is reflected as having been born in 1844 and as adult had a farm/home, per the 1880 federal census for Lincoln Co., TN, being in Districts 5 and 6 in Lincoln, TN. His parents, reflected on the 1880 census, as both having been born in Virginia. At time of 1880 census, JOHN F. DAVIS age reflected as being 36 and LETICIA age is reflected as being 37. Her occupation was – keeping house. Her parents both born in NC, per 1880 Lincoln Co., TN census info.

CHLOE LUTICIA McAFEE was known commonly in life as LUTITIA McAFEE. She was the daughter of AZARIAH McAFE, also of Fayetteville, but born in NC. Abt LUTICIA I so far know only the following:

CHLOE LUTITIA (or Letitia) McAFEE; born 1843, married name – LUTITIA DAVIS; 1st spouse – GEORGE WAGGONNER; 2nd spouse – JOHN F. DAVIS, farmer, of Lincoln, Lincoln Co., Tennessee.

Children of LUTITIA McAFEE DAVIS and JOHN F. DAVIS were:
GEORGE W. DAVIS, son, age 17, born in TN;
WILLIAM RILEY DAVIS, son, age 12, born in TN;
SARAH E. DAVIS, daughter, age 10, born in TN;
THOMAS R. DAVIS, daughter, age 9, born in TN;
EMILINE DAVIS, daughter, age 7, born in TN;
MARY DAVIS, daughter, age 6, born in TN;
MARTHA DAVIS, daughter, age 6. born in TN;
JOHN E. DAVIS, son, age 4, [born in abt 1876], born in TN;
IVY W. DAVIS, son, age 3 mos., born in TN;

I am direct descendant of JOHN E. DAVIS (son of LUTITIA and JOHN F DAVIS), who was my great granddad and lived most of his adult life in Taylor (Willliamson Co.), Texas. He married KATIE LEE PINKERTON, who grew up in the household of a Dr. Lee in Fayetteville. Her dad was BROWN PINKERTON.

CHLOE LUTITIA McAFEE was one of several children of AZARIAH McAFEE and wife SARAH JANE ASHBY in Lincoln Co., TN. SARAH was daughter of SAMUEL ASHBY and NANCY SLOAN.

The 1870 federal census of Lincoln Co., TN reflects the following info. for what is apparently the same family, as it existed then:

       JOHN DAVIS, age 23, white, male, farmer;
       LORTITIA DAVIS, age 26, while female, keeps house;
       GEORGE DAVIS, age 7, white, male;
       WILLIE DAVIS, age 2, white, male;
       S.E. DAVIS, age 6 mos., white female.

LUTITIA McAFEE DAVIS dad was AZARIAH McAFEE, who was born in abt 1831 in Lincoln, TN, the son of HALIFAX ASHBY, SR. and wife, SARAH JANE HUDSON.

HALIFAX ASHBY, SR. was born abt 1757 to 1765 in England?, died 1825 in Surry Co., NC. He was married to SARAH JANE HUDSON, born abt 1774 in Stafford, Virginia, married HALIFAX ASHBY abt 1789 in Surry Co, NC, died abt 1819 in Surry, NC.

As for KATIE LEE PINKERSON, wife of JOHN E. DAVIS, who was son of LUTITIA McAFEE DAVIS and JOHN F. DAVIS, her parents were:
WILLIAM BROWNLOE (“Brown”) PINKERTON, born 01/28/1837 in Lincoln, TN, died 04/11/1912 [State of Tennessee Death Index, Record No. 54417]
BROWN PINKERTON'S parents were JAMES PINKERTON and NANCY (SLOAN) PINKERTON.
BROWN PINKERTON had several children in his SECOND family, by wife, SARA (“Sally) JANE ARMSTRONG, whom he married on 10/01/1874. SARA JANE ARMSTRONG was born on 04/02/1841, died on 03/29/1893, and her parents were WILLIAM C. ARMSTRONG and wife ELIZABETH __________.

BROWN PINKERTOn and SARA JANE ARMSTRONG PINKERTON's children were:

KATIE LEE PINKERTON, born on 05/19/1881, died on 04/08/1960 [spouse - JOHN EDGAR DAVIS]

DAVID SLOAN PINKERTON, born on 06/26/1875, died on 09/23/1935 [spouse - LOU TISSIE CARTER]

MAGGIE ELIZABETH PINKERTON, born on 11/30/1876, died on 05/03/1900

ADDIE MAE PINKERTON, born o 05/17/1879
[spouse = DAVID HONEY]

MARTHA ANN PINKERTON, BORN ON 07/18/1883
[spouses = T.M. HOSNER and J.C. OLIVER]
