I am researching the HIRAM GIBSON family that is located in Macon
County, Tennessee, in the 1850 census. He married in 1849 to Martha
Jones. I think his parents are William and Sarah Gibson that are
living next to them. Don't find any other Gibson families but John
Gibson and I think he might be a brother to Hiram.
The two families are listed this way in the 2nd district of Macon
County.
WILLIAM GIBSON, age 48, farmer, born Va
SARAH GIBSON, age 50, born Va
HESTER A GIBSON, age 15, born Tn
SARAH GIBSON, age 12, born Tn
CYMANTHA GIBSON, age 9, born Tn
POLLY GRUBBS, age 73, born Va
Living next door
HIRAM GIBSON, age 22, farmer, born Tn
MARTHA J GIBSON, age 29, born Ky
About 1854, Hiram Gibson moved to Schuyler County, Missouri. I
believe that Hester Gibson married Thomas A Jones, Sarah Gibson
married Calvin J Hanes, and Samantha Gibson married John R
Alexander. Several of thes families also moved to Schuyler County,
Missouri. About the end of the Civil war Hiram moved to Randolph
County, Missouri.
I would like to be able to tie all of these families together and
trace William Gibson and wife Sarah back to Virginia. All help would
be appreciated.
