Mystery - Rooks, Marconi/Maroni/Meroney, Early 1900s

This may be a waterhaul but here goes! My husband knows very little of his family history. His mother died while he was a young boy. His sister who was much older than he told me this story. Another wild story she told me about their father's ancestors has proven to be true so this one may have some truth to it also.
Their mother was Lucille Elizabeth Rooks b. June 27, 1904 in Madison, TN. She was the daughter of Katie Rooks b. 1884 in Madison Co. Katie Rooks was the daughter of James Rooks (b.1849) and Mary Elizabeth Estes (b. 1847) of Madison Co. Lucille's father was supposedly a Marconi or Maroni or something like that. Supposedly Italian. He supposedly fell off a roof and died. You can see how little I have to go on.
The 1910 Census shows Katie Rooks as single, living with her parents, and the child Lucy (b. 1904) is also living with them identified as granddaughter to head of household.
Now, after searching through Madison Co. records, I have found two possibilities for the father - One is buried in Lot 87, Lyerla Lot, at Riverside Cem. He is Ivo C. Meroney 1876-1904. Note - he died same year Lucy was born. This seems like a good possibility.
The only other person I've found that remotely resembles the story is a newspaper article which states: "Sam Reavis died June 9, 1910. Killed by coming in contact with 2200 volt electric wire while working on Eppengan Building, corner of College and Market St. Working on roof - hurled to pavement head first from top of ladder."
Would anyone happen to know anything about the possibility of one of these being Lucy's father? Any information, clues, rumors, or gossip would be so very much appreciated. I know this is very little information to go on but it is all I have.
Thank you for reading this and your interest.
Regards,
MaryAnn Caldbeck
