I am in great need for finding my any information on some of my relations. I am looking for the Henderson family. The reason I need this information is I have found through genetic testing I have a cancer gene. I believe the gene comes from my Henderson family. However, I have no information on them and I really need this information. This is the only information I have. If you have any information please share with me. Thank you for your help.
Info Have:
Elizabeth (Pharis) Henderson (born about 1839) husband unknown. Children: Bill Henderson (9/3/1857 – 5/4/1921) (My Great Great Grandfather), Virginia Ann Henderson (abt 1858), Sarah L Henderson (abt 1864), Cordelia A Henderson (abt 1867). Sometime near 1870 Elizabeth came to KY (Butler Co) via the river and married John Douglas on March 10 1870. They had two children: George B Douglas (abt 1870) and Drusilla Douglas (abt 1874).
On Feb 23, 1882 Bill Henderson married Mary Abigail Bacon (Widow of Wiley S Embry) in Butler co KY. They have one known child Florida Myrtle Henderson (2/24/1884 – 3/18/1933) who is my great grandmother.
When Mary Abigail died in 1899 Myrtle was sent to live with the Douglas families.
My mother (Myrtle’s granddaughter) just passed away in October 2008 for Ovarian Cancer. We believe Myrtle might have also died from Ovarian cancer (just wouldn’t have know at the time). Do to so many of Myrtle’s granddaughters having passed from Ovarian cancer we found we carry the gene for the cancer. We need the family history for the Henderson’s so we can see if any other female died at an early age of “female” problems. Also the genetic counselor believes we have a Jewish ancestry who could have passed this gene.
If anyone has any information; big or little; I need any help you can give.
