After careful study under a magnifying glass, I think you will see, this name is actually Rebecca BARBEE.
Rebecca moved to Missouri in the 1840s with her adult children. Her husband, Matthew Barbee (can be found in the 1830 Marion Co census), died in Marion County in 1834. Seven children were born to Mathew and Rebecca, possibly an eight, but no proof of the last child.
Rebecca died in Newton county, Missouri in 1853
This is a little late coming, but I just ran into the post recently.
BTW Rebecca is also recorded in some Marion County property records as Rebecca Barbee, and Rebecca Barber, in possession of property once owned by her husband Matthew. She is also recorded in the Marion County 1836 Tax Records.
Rebecca was born in 1790 as Rebecca McCormick in South Carolina. This YOB matches up with the 1830, 1840, and 1850 census in which Rebecca can be found, and a D.A.R. application from the early 1900s that match up Matthew and Rebecca as husband and wife.
