Nearly all Collins lines in Marshall Co., TN descend from James Collins of Franklin Co., TN. My Collins line starts with William H. Collins b. 1824 TN m. unk with son George W. Collins b. 1852 KY, then m. Sarah Elizabeth Finley 1859 and had several other children. William chose George W. Collins as his guardian, the son of James Collins in 1840 in Lewisburg, Marshall Co., TN with Henry, George's brother paying the security. I can't find my William's biological parents anywhere. Can anyone help me with this brick wall??? The only Collines that I can find in probate records that died around that time were James Collins, his son Durham Collins, and a Samuel Collins. Could my William have been left off the will because he was a minor???? My line lived in Marshall Co. TN until 1860 or a little after and then migrated to Lake Co., TN by 1870, then migrated to AR to farm, and then settled in Dunklin Co., MO by 1880 census. William died before that census or left his family.
