I am researching John and Martha Clinton. They lived in Marshall county from 1850-1880. Martha then a widow moved in with her son James Clinton. John was born in N.C. and Martha was born in Giles county. They married July 4 1848. Their son Thomas married Mary Jane Mayes and lived in Maury county until they moved to ardmore Ok. John was a confederate soldier in the Marshall rangers. I would love for someone to do look ups on John. There is a statue outside the courthouse with his name on it. Martha was buried in the Bethlehem cemetary near Lewisburg. John's burial place is unknown. Only he was not on the 1870 census. Thanks! amy
