I cannot relate to the Powell family you cite, but I, too, have a Powell family in Maury Co ca 1830. This is the family of Joshua Powell, b ca 1796 KY. He m Tabitha Hogg 1825 Lawrence Co, TN. They appear to be living in Maury Co in 1830 with children James and Rebecca. Other chikdren in the family later were William Jahial [ca 1830], Mary ann [est 1834], Serilda Camile [est 1835], David Franklin [est 1838], Martha [ca 1842] and Tabitha D [bef 1842]. This family is found in Johnson Co, IL by the 1850s and by 1860 is in MO.
