R. D. BLACKSTONE - born ca. 1810, Athens, Monroe Co., Tennessee. Conducted business in McMinn Co. in the 1830's. Married Louisa ENGLAND on 8 January 1839 on the Cherokee Trail of Tears (have documented proof.) This couple settled in Maysville, Benton Co., Arkansas and remained there until the Civil War forced them into the Choctaw Nation, I. T. Louisa died there in 1867 and R. D. (Robert Dean) resettled in Webbers Falls, Canadian District, Cherokee Nation, I. T. Never remarried, died in Webbers Falls on 10 March, 1876 and is buried in a large family cemetery there. R. D. had brothers, Thomas and Pleasant M. and sisters, Mary and another as yet unknown, but referred to in documentation as "Mrs. Davis." Thomas was located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as early as 1830 and as late as 1861. He was worth quite a lot of money in 1857 ($200,000,) but am unable to determine what sort of business he was in. Pleasant M. was located in Placquemine Parrish, Louisiana, in 1831 and it is believed he was a merchant. Mary Blackstone, their sister, never married and died in Philadelphia, Monroe Co., Tennessee in 1857. By the way, the 1830 Census of McMinn Co., Tennessee listed Argyle BLACKSTONE, head of household with one male, 30-40 yrs., and one female, 30-40 yrs. Also, one Argyle BLACKSTONE, served in the War of 1812 as a private with the East Tennessee Militia. Any comments??
