Tammy,
My Rodden were last found in Lincoln Co., TN with a number of sisters (3) and brothers (7), some were buried in Frankewing Quadrangle, Lee Cem., Lincoln Co., TN, one in Greenlawn Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana. He died in the civil war. One in Davis Cem. Frankewing#3, Lincoln Co., Tn one is buried in Waco, Tx and my gr grandfather James Monroe Rodden who died in 1913 and is buried in Oddfellow Cemetery in Abilene, Tx. Their father was William Roden, Mother: Sarah Ann (Sally) Sumner(S). There is a Thomas but middle name is Jefferson. Oddly though my grandfather is named James Franklin and I can find no Franklin anywhere else, so there may be a connection. You could check in Lincoln Co., TN 1850 for him and you might find something. The story goes that my Rodden ran away from home because he didn't want to take care of the sheep and that is how he ended up in McMinn Co., but I find it very odd that he ended up in McMinn Co., where there just happen to be Rodden's. I believe there is a connection somewhere. There is also a gentleman who is suppose to be related to us in Lincoln Co., who is also doing research . He might be able to help. If you will contact me by e-mail I will give you his address and phone number, (if he is still alive), he might be able to give you something. The Rodden was spelled Roden then and according to him we are descended from (if I remember correctly) Rodan the sculpture. Hope this helps some let me know what happens, with a name like ours there has to be a connection somewhere. Take care and God bless. Erline
