My David was Eli David Lawson. He was born in 1835 and died 1893. He died in McMinn county but may have spent time in MO, not sure. I'm not sure if there were other David Lawson's from McMinn county. There is never enough time when searching at libraries or courthouses. I spent several hours at the McMinn county courthouse a couple of weeks ago. I only got from 1820's through 1840's records. It was a cramped space and I was in everyone's way and had to share their copier. I could tell I was wearing out my welcome or I would have stayed longer. Thanks for the tip about those books.Do you have a "Lawson" named relative who can take a DNA test. My husband took the test recently. It sure can narrow the search. I will scan and send a photo of Susannah Lawson's marker since you apparently missed noticing it.
