Wilson County - SMITH Families

Need information for George SMITH and wife Elizabeth (?BARKSDALE?) One son was George W. SMITH. Another son was Captain William Dudley SMITH b 1798. Another son was Samuel B. (?Barksdale?) SMITH.

I descend from George W. SMITH who was in Collin Co., TX early 1800's (married in Wayne Co., KY) but his age seems to fit in with this family. Legend has that he was born in Wilson Co., TN. I need some proof that he is the one and the same born into this family. His 4 daughters born in KY, AL, & MO do not follow the names in BARKSDALE lineage of VA or the Wilson Co., TN SMITH Family? So I have serious doubts.

Any help would be most appreciated.
