Don't know if this will help you, but here's some documentation. You apparently already have this part:

1910 Federal Census - Arkanasas - Mississippi County - Bowen
RAY
Thomas, Head, 24, M 1-8/12
Mary A., 16, M 1-8/12
No children shown

Then, the 09/12/1918 World War I Draft Registration for Bowen County, Arkansas:

RAY, Thomas Jonathan, 36, born 08/28/1882
Farmer, living with wife Mary on Route 3, Blytheville
Medium height and build, brown eyes, black hair

Then,
1920 Federal Census - Arkansas - Mississippi County - Bowen

RAY
J.T., Head, 35
Asalee, Wife, 25
Selias, Son, 8
Ella, Daughter, 6
A. Freddie, Son, 4

Are you sure about the ice incident, given the time and place?

Good luck!
