If you will contact the SYKES/SIKES FAMLY ASSOC, which is easily available on the web, you will find plenty of sources for information on your William, as well as James SYKES and Charlotte DELOATCH, who are prominent SYKES family members from North Carolina, whose children and siblings spread throughout Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, and the entire Southeast part of the country. Try to contact or look over the work of Dennis McGuire or Otis SIKES when you are at the Family Assoc site. My own family is James SIKES b1759 VA, through NC, to Lincoln CO, TN about 1817, where he died in 1833 (Rev Pension Rec). He left wife Hannah b1787NC, and sons Howell b1785NC, Jesse b1792NC and daughter Lydia b1785NC all living with extended families near Fayetteville, TN at his death.
