Copy of handwritten will of Christian Harmon B: about 1779 in Tennessee, father of Lavina Harmon Kinser, mother of George W. Kinser. Died 18 Jan 1857 in Clinton co. IN Copy: Last Will of Christian Harmon Of Clinton co. IN In the name of God, Amen. I, Christian Harmon, being of weak of body, though sound in mind, do make this my last will and testament. First of all, I will that at my death that my body be decently buried and my soul return to God who gave it. Second that my funeral expense be paid. Third, I will of my household goods and my carriage, also one bay mare worth $30 and $30 dollars to my son-in-law John Pittsanbarger(?), also I will and bequeath to my daughter Catherine, $25.00 in case. Fourth, I will and bequeath to my son Jacob that he have the $60 dollars he has and that he shall have $150 more of my estate. Fifth, I will and bequeath to my son William, he paid $138 over and above the $60 dollars that has all ready received. Sixth, I will and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth $100 dollars, including that $43 dollars that she already received. Seventh, I will and bequeath to my daughter Sarah’s children the sum of $100 dollars to be equally divided as they become of age. Eighth, I will to my son Louis, one dollar. Ninth, I will to my daughter Lavina, the sum of one dollar. Tenth, I will that my son John, have the 100 acres of land that I gave him Last of all, I appoint my son Jacob Harmon, my Executor for me and in my name. Christian Harmon Signed, sealed and delivered in the presence of us this 22nd day of May in the year of our Lord A.D. 1853. Signed Benjamin A. Shaffer and Ralph Griffin State of Indiana Clinton County On this 4th day of April in the year of our Lord, eighteen hundred and fifty-seven personally Appeared before me, John Barner. Being duly sworn according to law, deposed and says that the within and foregoing ----of writing is the last will and testament of Christian Harmon, late of Clinton county, deceased, who died on or about the 18th day of January 1857, and that said decedent at the time of the execution and beginning of said will was of sound mind and memory, and that he signed the same without coercion or restraint, and that at his request I signed my name.
