Does anyone out there have any information that might lead to the ancestors of William, Sarah and Duncan Hood?
William Hood b. Abt. 1796 and d. 19 May 1846 in Greene County, Missouri. He married Sarah (Sally) E. McCall, 28 Oct 1817 in McMinn County, Tennessee, daughter of John McCall and Elizabeth Black. She was b. 1797 in North Carolina, and d. 1 Mar 1894 in Republic, Greene County, Missouri.
Marriage information was taken from Knox County Marriage Records 1792-1900 by Roscoe & Virginia Carlisle d'Armand. William and Sarah were married by Rev. T.H. Nelson.
This family consisting of the parents and six children, was listed on the 1830 census of McMinn County, p. 148. They must have lived very close to the border of Monroe County, Tennessee, as William and his young family were members of the Pond Creek Baptist church there. William joined in March 1833. In February of 1836, letters of dismissal were issued to William, Sarah and Duncan Hood. (An'Searchin, XI (April 1964):72-73.) William lived in a neighborhood in McMinn County that moved, almost intact, to southwest Greene County, Missouri.
William Hood appeared on the 1840 Greene County, Missouri census on p. 300. His household consisted of 2 males under 5, 1 male 5-10, 1 male 40-50; 1 female under 5, 3 females 5-10, 2 females 15-20 and 1 female 40-50.

i. Duncan Hood, b. 22 Oct 1818 in TN; d. Mar 1849 in Greene County, MO. m. 21 Feb 1841, Greene County, MO, Nancy E.L. Blades, b. 4 Feb 1824.
ii. Catharine J. Hood, b. 1823 in TN; m. ca. 1848, William Blanchard.
iii. Nancy Ann Hood, b. ca. 1824; m. 28 Jan 1847, Greene County, MO, Isaac T. Blades.
iv. William J. Hood, b. ca 1827 in TN; m. 31 Aug 1849, Lawrence County, MO. Clarissa Martha Jones, b. ca. 1833 KY.
v. Amos H. Hood, b. ca. 1828 in TN; m. 11 Feb 1847 in Greene County, MO. Cymthia C. Blades.
vi. Mary A Hood b. ca. 1829 in TN.
vii. Eliza A. Hood b. ca. 1832 in TN.
viii. Sarah M. Hood b. ca. 1834 in TN.
ix. Marquis Lafayette Hood b. ca. 1837 in MO.
x. Rebecca Hood b. ca. 1840 in MO.
I would very much appreciate hearing from anyone who has any information on this William Hood and any of his ancestors. William was my great-great-great grandfather and to date, I haven't been able to trace down any of his ancestors or where the came from.
I am willing to share any and all information I have on this family.
