While I have not read the entire contents I very well know the part about the Hartons. John L. Harton and Christina B. McKnight were my great-great-grandparents. Their daughter Louanna, (actually Lousianna), married Samuel Edgar Newsom. They were members of the Ebenezer Church, listed in the membership of 1905-1906, as were Charles Newsom, Sam's brother, and their adult aged son William H. This list is where I found Sherwood Newsom. Sherwood must have been at least 21 because they did not list children. Sam's father was Robert. There the trail ends. I do not know his parents except that they were born in Virginia. Robert was born in Tennessee.
The Watlington family is having a reunion this month and a Harton relative is going and will inquire about my Newsom ancestors. As you see they were very good record keepers.
I seem to know more of the Hartons, my maternel side, than my Newsom ancesty. I will try to find time to read more of this. Thank you!
