I have not learned any new information. The lady from the Crockett Co Times (only newspaper in the county) looked through all of the editions for 1976 and did not find any mention of him.
I asked her who did monuments for the county, and she gave me the name of a monument company. They have records but have to know the person who bought the monument plus the month and year it was purchased. As you know, the monument could have been bought in 1976 or any year later.
I have not heard anything else from the people that I have contacted.
Maybe I can find the person who looks after the cemetery. Will let you know.
