I found an interesting story in the Blount county library. It is in the Allison family book. It tells about a young Cherokee girl that became the nanny for Uriah Sherill Allison and his wife Nancy Clark Cox Allison's daughter, Mary. She would always hide when any of the Cherokee came around and would return after they left. One day when Uriah and Nancy went into town for an entire day, a group of Cherokee men came and took the young girl that they called Katie. It looked like Uriah Allison had something to do with the abduction. Could Katie and Catherine Louisa that married James Riley Gentry be the same person? Does anyone know if Catherine Louisa was half Cherokee or not. Thanks for any help. Catherine and Riley named one son Riley Ellison. Ellison was substituted for Allison. Riley Ellison Gentry sometimes spelled his name as Allison.
