Searching for what happened to Elizah J. Sawyer. She was an orphan and raised in Caswell Co., NC by William and Susan A. Foster Mitchell. After William's death in 1855, Susan moved to what is now Moore Co. or possibly Franklin Co.(right at the county line) She brought Elizah J. Sawyer with her as well as another orphan she raised named Susan J. Foster. Susan J. married James Franklin Spencer, son of James Mitchell Spencer. I need to know what happened to Elizah J. Sawyer. Any help appreciated.
