I am looking for information on or other researchers of the following couple:
Andrew T. SMITH (b. about 1860 TN) and Mary Catherine SHANNON (b. about 1860 TN). They were married 2 Apr 1881 in Morgan Co., TN. At the time, Mary Catherine already had a son, Charles, who took Smith's name, becoming Charles Clifford Smith. It is not clear who Charles' father actually was, whether his father's surname was possibly Clifford, or whether Clifford was his middle name all along. Family lore states that possibly Charles was born out of wedlock. His birth date is Mar 25, 1875. He was born in TN.
In 1920 census, Andrew and Mary Catherine are living in Attalla, Etowah Co., AL.
Their son, Charles Smith, ended up in Chattanooga, Hamilton Co., TN.
Has anyone come across these two in Morgan Co research? (Note: She also went by Catherine only sometimes.)
