Searching for the parents of Alexander (born about 1820, SC) and Matilda (born about 1823 NC or SC) BUCHANAN. Found this couple on the 1850 Obion County census with James born about 1843 South Carolina, Robert, born about 1847 TN, Ann born about 1849 SC and Sarah born about 1783, SC. Did NOT find this couple on the 1860 Obion County TN census. Did find Alexander Buchanan on the tax roll for 1859 and 1860. (see LDS #1007356 Obion Co Tn Tax books). This family is also on the 1870 Obion Co. census, except James, Ann and Sarah. What became of these 3 people? Guess Sarah must have died...but then she could have married or left the area.
Was Sarah BUCHANAN (born about 1783) living with Alexander BUCHANAN in 1850 the same Sarah BUCHANAN that is found on the Obion County 1840 census?
