Thomas SIMMONS, b. c1790's, prob. NC; 1840 Obion Co. Census

Looking for any information about Thomas SIMMONS, b. bet. 1790 and 1800. Thomas appeared in the 1830 Weakley Co. TN Census and then appeared in the 1840 Obion Co. TN Census. I can't find him after that census and believe he may have died between 1840 and 1850. I believe he may have been the father of my g grandfather, John SIMMONS, b. 1814, Middle TN and living in Weakley Co. by 1830's and later in Obion Co., TN. My g grandfather, John SIMMONS was buried in the old Simmons Cemetery (now abandoned and in the middle of a farmer's corn field) in Obion Co., TN. I'd appreciate any information about Thomas SIMMONS.
