I am searching for my McConnell and Voorhies ancestors. We believe that they helped to found Mt. Zion United Methodist Church on Mt Zion Rd. in Union City TN. Some of them are buried in the cemetery across the road.
Margaret Prince Farrar married Jacob Voohries
They had 2 daughters, Charlotte and Maragret. I have no information on Maragret. Charlotte(3/21/1830-9/28/1866) married Dr. Guy Simpson Miles(4/18/1816-11/20/1881). They had 7 children,5 lived to adulthood. Their 3rd child was Charlotte Miles. She married Robert Yell McConnell. They had 7 children, 5th child was Charlotte Voohries McConnell. She married William Clarence Sowell. The had 4 children. William Burr, Robert, Thelbert Clarence,& Alice. Thelbert married Ella Kathleen Moore. William(Dub) married Elizabeth Mareen Moore. Mareen and Katie are sisters. I would appriecate any information that you have. We have very little.
