Gibbons of Overton, TN: Thomas, Edmond, Epps

Big Question for Overton Co., Tennessee Gibbons descendants:

All three of these brothers, sons of Thomas Gibbons and Ann Epps: Thomas, Edmond, and Epps Gibbons were at one time in Overton Co., Tennessee.

Thomas was living in the Roaring River area as early as 1805. Thomas is reputed to have had 26 children, 23 of whom are supported by the census records, but only 18 (possibly 19 or 20) of whom are named. In 1830, Thomas is listed in the White Co., Tennessee census. Sometime around 1838, the family dispersed---Thomas and younger children to Marshall, then Humphreys Co., Tennessee. Older children to Missouri, Arkansas, Indian Territory, etc.

Edmond moved with family to Overton Co., Tennessee between 1807 where he was deeded property in Hawkins Co. and 1820 when he appears in the Overton Co., Tennessee census. Edmond remained in Overton Co.

Epps, fighting in the War of 1812, was in Overton Co. by the 1820 census also. In 1840, Epps was in Madison Co., Tennessee where he joined with Gibbons brothers' nephew, Claiborne Chism [Chisholm] to travel to the Red River are of Texas.

The later Gibbons in Overton Co., Tennessee are attributed as the offspring of Edmond Gibbons and Margaret Macy/Mason?

The question: What documentation is available that ties them all to Edmond other than circumstantial evidence that they are in Overton Co. and that Edmond was the only Gibbons that stuck around? Bible records, wills, deeds of gifts, etc.?

I am trying to supply some missing names to the children of Thomas. It is likely that Thomas had older children that remained in the area after he and younger children left. We probably have at least two unnamed daughters and three unnamed sons plus two unsupported by census records. By supplying documentation for the known descendants of Edmond, we can eliminate and narrow the possibilities.

I will be happy to share all the sources and documentation that I have available.
