Howard Lemons was born about 1911, in Grassy Cove, Cumberland County, TN, to William Henry Lemons (1887-1970) and Martha R. "Mattie" Bristow Lemons (1875-1959). He had a sister, Maggie J. Lemons (1913-1989), and a brother, Richard Dennison Lemons (1915-1989). In the 1920 Census, all five members of this family are living together with Mattie's widowed mother, Margaret Bristow, in Grassy Cove. In the 1930 Census, William Henry Lemons, his wife, daughter, and younger son, Richard, are living in Mountain Home, Arkansas; while Howard and his grandmother, Margaret Bristow, are living in the household of his grandmother's brother (or his great uncle), Millard DeRossett, in Henderson County, Texas. In 1940, Howard's grandmother, Margaret Bristow, died in Mountain Home, AR, where her obituary says she had been living with her daughter, Mattie Lemons, for several years. Margaret's body was returned to TN by train and she was buried beside her husband in the Grassy Cove Baptist Church Cemetery. Howard's parents and sister are buried in Mount Sulphur Cemetery, Grandview, TN. When each of his parents died in Tennessee, their obituaries said that their son, Howard, was living in Junction City, Kansas. Have not been able to trace Howard in KS. Does anyone have info on what happened to him? Notify Administrator about this message?
