Joseph Smith and Jane Griffith were married in Roane County, TN. Mar.16,1861. Their son Jefferson Davis Smith was born on Oct.22,1861, believe in Roane County as well. I can find nothing more on the family until Jeff marries Sarah Robinson on June 29,1880. Joseph was a Private in Unit Co.A, 16th Batt'n Tenn.Calvary during the Civil War. Enlisting at Post Oaks Springs TN on May 01, 1862. Know he was captured and released, after that the family vanishes.
Can anyone help me.
