I am seeking info of any kind on the origins of the Hays family that had settled in Robertson Co.,TN around 1805. Census records from 1850 and after indicate the members came from Virginia, county unknown. Members of this family later settled in Maury, Henry and Weakley Counties in Tennessee.
1. Anna Hays(1774-1867) m. Henry Fiser,d. Henry Co/Weakley Co.,TN
2. William Hays(1782-ca1859) m.Sarah ?, d.Henry Co.,TN
3. James Hays (ca1785-1821) m. Elizabeth Kilcrease, d.Maury Co.,TN
4.Robert Hays(ca 1785-1836), second wife named Julia ?, d. Henry Co.,TN
5.Female Hays m. Jacob Daimwood(1776-1845),d. ca 1810 Maury Co.,TN
6. Elizabeth Hays(ca1788-ca1855) m. John Butler, d. Maury Co.,TN
7.David Hays (1790-1858)m. Emily Harrison,d. Weakley Co.,TN
8. Samuel Hays(1791-1875) m. Elizabeth(Lyon) Hunt, d. Weakley co.,TN
Have hit a brick wall on this family. Numerous deed and court records in Robertson, Maury, Henry and Weakley counties seem to indicate the above mentioned Hays were related, but no "smoking gun" proving the exact relationships has been found. Anna Hays Fiser, David Hays and Samuel Hays were buried at Powell Cemetery in Weakley County, TN. Any clues, comments welcome. There also was a Francis/Franklin Hays associated with this family in Robertson County between 1806 and 1820.
