Gwen, my problem is that I don't have that much information to go on. I have no groom's name, only a name for a widow, Caroline Mathews. She was born somewhere in Tennessee. I don't know her maiden name. In 1880, she and 3 children were living in St. Landry Parish Louisiana and they listed her as a widow. Her oldest child, then, was 19 yrs. old. I'm trying to locate a Caroline "somebody" married to a "somebody" Mathews before 1860. I know it's like looking for a needle in a haystack, but I've got to try something. I've been stumped too long on these ancestors of mine. Thank you, Gwen.
