Looking for information about William F. Thompson, b. April 5 1884 in Oneida, TN. Family history goes that he was left at an orphanage upon or around the time of his birth, circumstances unknown. Are there any orphangages in the area that were open in 1884. Can this story be verified? I know he ended up in Letcher Co. KY where he married Maggie Blair. He died Nov 13th 1945 and is buried in KY.
On his death cert. the father is listed as Cossie Thompson, and no record for the mother.
