Interesting theory that his sisters came up with but hardly anything you can hang your hat on - IF it's true he won money and it wasn't found on him then there could be other explanations - maybe he owed someone and he immediately paid it back with the winnings or perhaps an emergency or hospital worker helped themself to it. It wouldn't be the first time that happened. As I said, the death certificate is the document to obtain. It should say whether the death was accidental or otherwise. I don't know why he doesn't show up in the online death indexes for Shelby County. Perhaps he died in WEST Memphis, which is in Arkansas and just across the Mississippi River from Memphis, Tennessee. Or maybe the online indexes just aren't complete or.....?
