Judy -

1850 census, Smith County, Tenn., page 251.

Beverely S. Kemp (male) age 24 and wife Charlotte, age 23, both born in Tenn. had a daughter Frances L.T. , age one in 1850.

If the census was hard to read I wouild not pit ,much faith in those initials.

In 1850 trhere were 108 Kemps on that census ! Probably more in Macon County.

In 1820 only four families - Murfree (Murphy), Jinks, Richard, Sr. and Jr. Jinks went to Missouri.

1830 census for Smith has Cynthia (maybe the widow of Richard, Sr. ? ), Murphy and one Richard (Jr.?). All these censuses are online.

- Ken
