Mary,

Thank you so much for this information. It really helps. I grew up in Madison County but moved away years ago. I have the information about Ellis Kemp being killed during the Civil War. He was killed the same night as Edward Sanders, who was the father of Nancy Caroline---who married Millard Franklin Kemp.

Millard would have been 15 in 1870. Did he return to Tennessee with his mother? I wonder when he returned to Madison County. He and Nancy Caroline were married in 1878. Thanks for your help.
