I am looking for the origin of Vincent Carter b. 1803 in Halifax NC and came to Smith County Tennessee about 1806. His first name may have been William (found on one marriage document for a child of his). He went by Vincent on nearly every record. He was in Giles county TN somewhere around the 1820s and then in 1850 moved on to Union Co IL in 1850 (per Fed.census). He married his first wife probably in Smith Co TN.
I would love to hear from someone who thinks they may be related to this lineage. I have a family member who is willing to take a DNA surname test. It is just getting the finances together to do it.
