Elender Choate may be a younger sister of Prudence Choate.
Prudence was born in 1782 in Tennessee and died on 5 April 1862, and is buried next to her husband, Isham/Isom Dykes,
in the Philadelphia Cemetery in McMinnville, Warren Co., Tenn.
Prudence and Isom Dykes' daughter, Celia, was born about
1806 in Grundy Co., Tenn. and married John Seitz, born c1805 in Lincoln Co., N.C., son of Andrew Seitz and wife,
Mary "Polly"..... Celia is buried in the Fairview Church Cemetery near Grosen, Alabama. John died before the 1870 Census.
Susannah Lankford, wife of William Dykes Sr. (c1745-1832)
was a daughter of James Lankford who wrote his Will in 1772 in Surry Co., N.C., proved in the Feb. Court 1778
by Joseph Cloud, Surry Co., N.C. (now Stokes Co., N.C.)
James Lankford names his wife, Sarah, and his children,
William, James Jr., and Susannah Dickes, in his Will.
Thomas Lankford was a witness to James Lankford's Will. I
do not know if Thomas was one of James' older sons or a nephew.
In August 1781 William and Susannah Dykes sold the land she inherited from her father to Benjamin Isbell, then William and Susannah moved to Sullivan Co., NC.(now
Hawkins Co., Tenn.)
