I am descended from a Margaret C Hilton, b abt 1815, TN. I believe her to be the daughter of Sarah Hilton, b abt 1785, in NC. Sarah appears in the 1830 Lincoln County TN Census, with sons and daughters, just before Margaret C Hilton would marry Singleton C Sikes in 1838. Since this is my maternal side, my DNA is probably of no value, but I am a participant in the Sikes/Sykes DNA Project. Please keep me informed if you find any links to my Margaret C Hilton. It appears that she and a daughter may have a sort of genetic "dwarfism" and a son that was just the opposite.
These traits have not shown up anywhere on the Sikes/Sykes side which has been traced around mutiple generations.
