My wife's Bishop line includes one Amanda Jane Hampton, born May 5, 1841, in Ford Town, Sullivan County, TN.
The question is whether or not Hampton is her family name.
She may have married (1st) a Hampton, then later, in 1861, she married Edmund H. Bishop in Washington County, TN.
Is there a Hampton family recorded that this daughter would fit into, born 1841 in Sullivan County?
If not, is there a marriage record for a Hampton fellow marrying one Amanda Jane (___??____) in the timeframe of about 1855-1860?
