Sullivan County Families Vol: 1,page 452 article # 944-45-and 46.As Written..Hatcher Family. William Hatcher came from England in the early seventeenth century , settled in Henrico County,VA. had sons Edward, Benjamin, and Henry, Edward's sons were John,Seth,Edward Jr.,and William,, William son of Edward ,had sons William Jr.,John and Jameston. Jameston married Ann Knibb about 1730, had sons Jameston Jr. and Thomas,who settled in the Carolinas before the American Revolution. Jameston Hatcher Jr. settled in Washington County,NC. his sons were Jameston iii, William,Henry H. and John.William son of Jameston Jr. married Joanna(last name unknown) abt. 1785, settled in Sullivan County.died before 1830, William and Joanna had eleven children. daughter Nancy married Thomas Carrier,another daughter Malinda married another Thomas Carrier nephew of Nancy's husband Thomas...Some of the family moved to KY.and other areas, some remained in Sullivan County, This is the Basic's...If you have accesss to this book you will find more history of the Hatcher family.
